RIP Irrfan Khan (7 January 1967 – 29 April 2020)


One of the finest actors of Bollywood, Irrfan Khan, passed away on 29th April 2020 due to medical complications of neuro-endocrine tumor. Irrfan had come down with a colon infection and was immediately admitted to Mumbai’s Kokilaben Dhirubhai Ambani Hospital. It was only last night that the sources said that Irrfan continues to fight and is expected to get better. His demise was announced by his friend Shootjit Sircar on Twitter. The director offered condolences and wrote,

My dear friend Irfaan. You fought and fought and fought. I will always be proud of you.. we shall meet again.. condolences to Sutapa and Babil.. you too fought, Sutapa you gave everything possible in this fight. Peace and Om shanti. Irfaan Khan salute.

Irrfan Khan made his film debut with a small role in award winning movie Salaam Bombay (1988). It was only in early 2000s he got some good roles in the dramas Haasil (2003) and Maqbool (2004). He was noticed and appreciated in those movies. After which followed movies like The Namesake (2006), Life in a… Metro (2007), and Paan Singh Tomar (2011), The Lunchbox (2013), Piku (2015), and Talvar (2015). His movie Hindi Medium got thunderous response in China. He also played in many Hollywood projects like The Amazing Spider-Man (2012), Life of Pi (2012), Jurassic World (2015), and Inferno (2016).
